UEA have produced a colour poster (in many languages) in support of Unesco‘s International Mother Language Day, 21st February. It can be downloaded here.

Why International Mother Language Day?
Linguistic and cultural diversity represent universal values that strengthen the unity and cohesion of societies.The recognition of the importance of linguistic diversity led to UNESCO ’s decision to celebrate International Mother Language Day.
When was it launched?
The 30th session of the General Conference of UNESCO in 1999 decided that the Organization would launch and observe an International Mother Language Day on 21 February every year throughout the world.

The European Day of Languages is a Council of Europe initiative held annually on 26th September each year to celebrate language culture and diversity.
EABhas secured a number of presentations in schools around the UK, on Wednesday our volunteer tutors will deliver the presentation to some 680 pupils!
